Management Change at AT: Daniel Seiler Takes Over as New CEO
- Co-founder Michael Wandelt hands over his responsibilities as managing director after 24 years
- Daniel Seiler wants to significantly increase awareness of AT as a leader in image processing
- New AT CEO puts further focus on business development in Europe and North America
Bad Oldesloe. His name has been well known in the machine vision industry for years, but since March 1st, Daniel Seiler has been gaining more attention at AT – Automation Technology as the new CEO of the North German technology company. In his new position, Daniel Seiler will lead the company as CEO together with CTO and founder Dr.-Ing. André Kasper. [sc_image position=”centered” disable_lightbox=”1″ src=”/8825″]He is thus taking over the operational tasks of the previous CEO and founder Michael Wandelt which is a challenge that the 43-year-old engineer is looking forward to with a great deal of enthusiasm and motivation: “AT’s products have enormous growth potential and I am very excited to push further development together with AT’s dedicated team. I am particularly fascinated by the fact that our 3D sensors and infrared cameras are used in almost every industry and that we have developed very exciting applications. As a result, our customers benefit from our expertise and we look forward to driving these exciting success stories forward,” explains Daniel Seiler.
The expert for machine vision studied electrical engineering with a focus on communications engineering in Darmstadt and later completed an Executive MBA in Frankfurt. He has been working in the image processing industry for many years. Starting as an application engineer at IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH in 2005, Daniel Seiler led the US site in Boston to success within four years at the same company. He was then promoted to Managing Director at the headquarters and ensured the continuous development of the company through his innovative ideas and commitment. Afterwards, he spent two years as CEO at the laser technology startup Cycle GmbH, while already supporting AT as a member of the advisory board.
For AT founder Michael Wandelt, it was then a logical step to hand over the responsibility for his succession at AT to him: “Daniel Seiler is the perfect candidate to take over my previous position at AT. He has learned machine vision from scratch and has already successfully managed a medium-sized company in the image processing sector as Managing Director. In addition, through his business development in the US, he brings exactly the expertise that we need for our expansion plans. Daniel Seiler is therefore already very experienced in all the areas that we want to expand at AT, and his personality also makes him an ideal fit for our strong team,” says Michael Wandelt, who will take over responsibility for infrared product management in the company with immediate effect.
For the newly established management team, all goals are set for growth in 2022 – both in terms of staff and the further development of products. AT is to be strengthened in almost every department in order to be able to support the expansion of the portfolio with sufficient resources. Furthermore, the launch of the new C6 3D camera series is planned for the summer, with which AT will once again prove why the company has always been the global innovation driver in special imaging sensor technology.
